GA Technology Literacy Assessment Toolkit

The Georgia Department of Education Office of Instructional Technology is pleased to announce the launch of the GA Technology Literacy Assessment Toolkit, which can be found at http://www.georgiastandards.org/toolkit.aspx.

In an effort to facilitate local choice, this toolkit was developed to serve as a guide to provide information on choices available to districts in meeting the 8th grade Tech Literacy component of NCLB. The Office of Instructional Technology will continue to add to this toolkit as we become aware of additional options for addressing technology literacy.

This website is being provided for informational purposes and does not constitute an endorsement by the Georgia Department of Education of any vendor or product. School districts are not required to use any of the assessment tools identified in the toolkit. We believe it is solely the decision of each school district to determine what assessment tools or strategies are appropriate to address the student technology literacy needs in the district.

School districts within the state will be required  to report on the technology literacy proficiency level of 8th grade students. This information will be captured in the Annual Hardware Survey. More details on the reporting components can be found on the toolkit website.
